Golden Receives CASp Certification for ADA Accessibility Compliance

March 27, 2013 (Tulsa, Okla.) – Patrick Golden, Project Manager at The McIntosh Group, has passed the certified access specialist (CASp) exam given by the California Department of General Services.

As a registered interior designer with CASp certification, Golden can review facility plans and specifications for compliance with state and federal accessibility laws, codes and regulations. He can also conduct accessibility research, prepare reports and conduct accessibility inspections.

The program is designed to meet the public’s need for experienced, trained, and tested individuals who can render opinions as to the compliance of buildings and sites with the state of California codes and regulations and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for accessibility.

The ADA specifies that buildings must be accessible to all people with disabilities. Facilities not in compliance with these rules must make efforts to becoming ADA compliant. Golden’s certification allows him to review and provide expertise in this area. He can examine buildings for compliance and work with building owners to remove accessibility barriers.
