Brad Gaskins Appointed to Building Code Interpretation Committee

TULSA, OK — The International Code Council (ICC) Board of Directors has appointed Brad Gaskins, AIA, as a member of the Building Code Interpretation Committee for the upcoming 2015-2017 Code Development Cycle.

Gaskins is a principal at The McIntosh Group, a national architecture, program management, and accessibility consulting firm based in Tulsa, Okla. Gaskins also represents the National Association of Convenience Stores on the ICC as part of the ANSI A117.1 Consensus Committee on Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities and sits on the ICC ANSI A117. 1 Membership Committee and Editorial Committee.

The purpose of the Building Code Interpretation Committee is to provide the official position of the International Code Council with regards to the International Building Code.

“It is in honor to serve on the ICC in whatever capacity I can,” Gaskins said. “As an architect and ADA consultant, accessibility laws and codes are of great importance to my work and the AEC industry in general, as well as to the persons with disabilities who rely on accessible design. I have been accused of sleeping with a code book under my pillow and codes are my passion.”

Gaskins’ term is effective January 1, 2015.
