McIntosh Elevated to AIA College of Fellows

The 2020 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated Lanny McIntosh, FAIA to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession.

The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.  Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.

Lanny was awarded his Fellowship for actively, efficiently, and cooperatively leading the association over a number of years — includ leading the association through significant change wiht his work developing and leading the Strategic Council; championing innovative funding and advocacy through his work with both the National ArchiPAC and the Oklahoma ARCPAC; and empowering emerging professionals through his firm, the Central States region and helping to elevate those emerging professionals to leadership positions throughout the Institute.

In her nomination letter, Connie McFarland, FAIA said “Lanny strives to improve our profession by simplifying AIA governance, mentoring emerging professionals and being a faithful advocate for architects and architecture.”

Lanny is the fourth Fellow from AIA Eastern Oklahoma, and the only male Fellow from the chapter. Other AIA Eastern Oklahoma Fellows include Cara Hall, FAIA; Connie McFarland, FAIA; and Jana Phillips, FAIA.
